Job Title: Receiving/Stock Clerk
Reports To: Store Manager
Supervises: None
General Purpose of Position:
The main duties of a stock clerk is to keep the store shelves neat, organized, labeled and well stocked with products. They are responsible for receiving orders, processing orders, setting up displays and moving old display product to the shelves of the store. They also have to keep the aisles clean and organized for the customers to easily find what they are looking for. ​The most important duties of a stock clerk are to process orders correctly and to be updated on the products expiration dates and product rotation so the older products can be replaced with new ones.
Tasks and Responsibilities:

Receiving, scanning and processing orders correctly

Sorting the products for stocking on the shelves

Ensuring that all new products are in the computer system and have price tags

Keeping track of the products life or expiration dates – product rotation
-
Maintaining inventory counts – report out of stocks, low stock levels
-
Keeping track of the products in the stock room or in overstock areas
-
Maintaining order and cleanliness in the work areas of the store
-
Coordinating with sales team and other departments
-
Reporting damaged products so we can get credit from the supplier

Reporting any missing or mispicked items on invoices
-
Storing of perishable goods

Merchandise shelves for orderly placement of products

Shelf maintenance – facing, straightening, tags, bin locations

Any other tasks as assigned by any manager.
Skills and Competencies:

Ability to process information/merchandise on invoices

Ability to communicate with associates and customers

Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation

Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job

Requirements:

Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting, and perform all functions as set forth above

Ability to work varied hours/days, as needed.
